Do you like Hot Cheetos? Because we know we do!

Their creation has been credited to a Hispanic-American man named Richard Montanez. In fact, this month is part of Hispanic Heritage Month! Have you ever heard of it?

Maybe you have a Hispanic friend. Hispanic means somebody has an ancestor who speaks Spanish, is of Spanish descent, or is from Mexico, Columbia, Spain, Puerto Rico, etc. The USA always celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th to October 15th.

You might wonder why we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. We celebrate it to recognize the history and honor the achievements of Hispanic and Latino Americans. It was first federally observed on August 17, 1988, by President Ronald Reagan. But it was originally only a week long until he changed it to be a month long.

So take this month to reach out to a friend, visit a Hispanic restaurant, or read a Hispanic book!
