About Our School
Families
Doors open at 8:50, and classes begin promptly at 9:15 a.m. All students should be in their designated places when the bell rings. Students not present at that time, will be counted tardy. Tardies will be unexcused unless the office is notified that the student will be late or they are signed in by a parent/guardian. We do not count a student tardy if they are late due to a school bus or daycare. If a student checks in after 10:00 a.m., they will be given a half-day absence. If your child is absent or late, due to an appointment, a medical excuse should be turned in to the office when they return to school.
Any student that is checked out before 2:30 p.m. will be given a half-day absence. If they are checked out early due to an appointment, please remember to turn the signed excuse in to the office. A parent/guardian must sign them out. We are not allowed to send the student outside and we do not call them from the classroom until a parent/guardian is in the office. If they are checked out after 2:30, it will not count as an absence, but it is recorded in the student’s attendance record as an “early out.”
All transportation changes must be called into the office no later than 3:00 p.m. unless it is an emergency. The office is extremely busy from that time until dismissal and we want to make sure that all notifications are delivered. Calling at the last minute to make changes, makes it difficult to guarantee that your child will receive the message. Please do not leave transportation messages on the office voice mail. We always try to answer messages in a timely manner, but there is no guarantee. Also, all transportation changes must either be called in or a note sent to the office. We do not take a child’s word, even though they may have been told by the parent/guardian, in these situations. Transportation changes are called into the classrooms at 3:15 p.m. To keep from interrupting instructional time numerous times, there are no early check-outs after 3:15 p.m. If you do call to make a transportation change, we ask that you do not come to check them out early. This keeps interruptions to the classroom at a minimum and doesn’t interfere numerous times with instructional time.
School is dismissed at 3:55 p.m. If your student is a car rider, please make sure that you have your car rider tag hanging from your rear-view mirror. If you need a new one, they are available in the office. Students will not be released to adults that do not have a school-issued car tag. The person picking up will need to come inside and show proof of ID. Also, students will not be released to anyone who is not on the contact list, unless we are notified in advance by the parent/guardian. Students must be picked up no later than 4:15 p.m. If a student has not been picked up by the required time, they will be brought inside to the office and a parent/guardian will be called. Those picking up late will be required to come inside and sign a late pick-up acknowledgment form.

There are NO LEFT TURNS from the parking lot between the times of 8:50-9:00 a.m. and 3:15-4:15 p.m. By adhering to this, traffic flows much quicker and allows everyone to get work in the mornings and home to start their evening activities.
