Mrs. Robin Sheetz

2017-2018 Teacher of the Year

Robin Sheetz is a third grade teacher at Angie Debo. She has previously taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade.  Mrs. Sheetz calls the Car Rider names each day and has helped with the Lego League and Dolphin Dash, so her face is familiar throughout the building and grade levels.

Mrs. Sheetz earned a Master of Education, Elementary Education degree conferred by Wilmington University in Delaware. Additionally, she has 21 hours of graduate work in Early Childhood Education at the College of Charleston.  Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, Finance from the University of Arizona.  She meets the state requirements as highly qualified in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.  She serves on the Behavior Committee and the Reading Cadre at Angie Debo and the ELA Standards Alignment Team and RSA Screener Review committee at EPS.  Her previous career was as a retail buyer for Foley’s Department store.

Robin and her husband, Rick, will celebrate 26 years of marriage in January.  They have three children who were raised all over the United States as members of their military family.  Kaitlyn graduated from Baylor University and is a pediatric nurse at Dallas Children’s Hospital. Brian graduated in May, from OU, with degrees in Biology and European History, and Rebecca attends OSU where she sings with the Concert Chorale and studies Vocal Performance. Other “family” members are two beagles, Molly and Bandit and three cats Tiga, Lillian, and Figaro.  Mrs. Sheetz is a member of Quail Springs Baptist church. She volunteers at Grace Rescue Mission and just returned from her seventh medical mission trip to Nicaragua.  Mrs. Sheetz has lived or visited all of the states in the U. S. except Alaska, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa and Idaho.

One of her favorite scriptures is 1 Corinthians 16:14 “Let all that you do be done in love” and a favorite quote is  ”If better is possible, good is not enough” –Benjamin Franklin.
